WITH the start of a new year, I wonder how many have made new year resolutions?
If you want to give up smoking, get healthier, change careers or find your life partner, you first need to realise the reason new year resolutions don't normally last very long is that most people don't have a plan of action on how they are going to make them come true. So take your life into your own hands and be responsible for your actions. Want a good plan of action for weight loss? Then here are some easy steps to help the new you surface in 2008:? Reassess your lifestyle. What areas do you think need improving? If you want to make changes then you must change some of the habits that have caused you to be unhealthy in the first place. Be honest with yourself, what needs to go?? Nothing worthwhile comes easy, but I guarantee that it is worth the effort in the end if you want to have energy, vitality and wellbeing.? Have realistic goals for 2008 ones you can achieve. Then ask yourself how you are going to achieve these goals. For weight loss you may have to give up something or cut down, but what you will gain will be worth it, I guarantee.? What habits do you need to change to be the best you can be?? Look at ways to keep motivated so you reach your goal weight.? Set your mind to whatever it is you want to achieve. If you want to lose weight and get healthy this year, then think and act like a healthy person and you will become one. If you do whatever a healthy person does you will become one.? Stop talking about it and just do it. It really is how you think that makes all the difference to weight-loss success. If you believe that you can achieve something, then you can, but if you have little or no faith in your ability then you are doomed to failure.? Want to be trim, taut and terrific? Then don't use any more excuses about why you can't exercise. Make it a priority at least four to five times a week.? Forget all those lame excuses. Don't hold yourself back any longer. Be the best you can be. All you have to do is get started, and don't stop till you reach your goal!I hope that all your dreams come true in 2008.Annette's Symply Too Good To Be True cookbooks, eight-week weight loss journal, CD-ROM menu planner and Get Motivated & Lose Weight CD are sold in newsagencies or visit symplytoogood.com.au.RECIPEACAPULCO CHICKENSERVES: 4* 4 x 125g skinless chicken breasts* cooking spray* 2 tablespoons salt-reduced taco seasoning (Old El Paso)* 3 tablespoons no-added-salt tomato paste* ? cup onion, diced* ? teaspoon chilli powder (optional)* ? cup green capsicum, diced* ? cup tomatoes, diced* ? large (60g) avocado, diced* ? cup 25 per cent reduced-fat grated tasty cheeseMethodPreheat oven to 180 degrees fan-forced.Use a mallet to flatten the chicken breasts.
